A review of public policies on migration: The case of Migrant Protection Groups in Mexico
Abstract
There are public policies that governments carry out to protect people who are in a vulnerable situation. The present work will analyze two public policies of the Government of Mexico for the protection of people who are in an irregular migratory situation: the Child Protection Officers and the Beta Groups. We consider that there are positive and negative aspects in the implementation of these public policies that must be reviewed and analyzed so that they can be perfected if they are to maintain these public policies. Therefore, in this work we will address the limitations and deficiencies of the work of the Child Protection Officers and the Beta Groups, so that we can find the aspects that can be strengthened to improve their work to protect people migrants.
