The Faces of Populism
Abstract
Populism is a very difficult concept to define, because it is a term used to designate different realities. The paper discusses the difficulties in defining this concept. The circumstances that justify the emergence of populism in different countries are also presented, and the characteristics of the different populist phenomena and the resulting tensions with democracy are developed.
