Normally, we would all agree that knowledge of the political and democratic systems is one of the first things that we as members of a society, with the ability and the right to make our opinion known through mechanisms of citizen participation, should learn and instill in it. However, there is a term that is little known, or at any rate, used in a very limited way: "political cultures". This is despite the fact that many authors find a relationship between that term and citizen participation. This article proposes a study where it is possible to compile evidence of the perception that a certain group of people of a specific locality possesses, about whether there is really a relationship between citizen participation and political culture and, if so, what it is.
