Comment on the new Comprehensive Law against Human Trafficking in Paraguay
Keywords:
Human trafficking; sexual exploitation; Paraguay; underage; children and adolescents.Abstract
Human trafficking and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents are two of the fastest–growing crimes in Paraguay, according to the claims of civil society organizations expressed in the last Alternative Report submitted before the Committee on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women. The Civil society organizations denounce "the lack of financial resources to confront these crimes, and the low or non–existent complaints that have been tried, including the numerous cases of children fleeing from their homes, which could be linked to human trafficking cases".
