Presentation of the Regional Report of the Inter–American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) on the Human Rights of the Persons Deprived of Liberty in the Americas exposed on March 15, 2013 in Washington, DC. It exhibits key points of the current discourse of the IACHR on the detainees, with emphasis on the content and scope of Article 5.6 of the American Convention on Human Rights. There are also other relevant points such as the duty of the State to adopt comprehensive public policies aimed at prison management and the principles of transparency and monitoring of prison management.
