Human rights at the end of life. Legal advances and setbacks in Mexico

Abstract

This article shows the development and current status of human rights regarding end of life, moreover, those who affect terminal patients in Mexico. This work is centered over juridical development and the influence of General Health Law’s reforms regarding palliative care. In addition, some repercussions of the mentioned reform into real practice are described, within Mexico’s public health and from the perception of directors from the most important palliative care centers.
