Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Submissions must strictly adhere to the following guidelines. Those that do not comply with the editorial recommendations will be returned for adjustment before being considered for review by the Editorial Committee.

The Journal sections relate directly to the main areas of the School of Government, Politics and International Relations: politics, economics and society; international relations; parliamentarianism, public policy, smart cities and digital government and environmental management.

Submissions are received through the Open Journal System, which can be accessed via this portal. Submissions must meet all the requirements specified by the system.

Articles are accepted in both Spanish and English, with translation subject to the discretion of the Editorial Committee.

Editing and publication of the accepted article

The Journal reserves the right to make minor modifications to the article before publication, which will not alter the content or central ideas of the text. These modifications pertain to formal aspects, such as spelling corrections, clarification of wording, or any other style-related aspects.

Accepted articles will be edited and sent to the corresponding author to address any questions or clarify any doubts the editor may have, approve the corrections, and give final approval. If the author does not satisfactorily respond to the editor's queries within 48 hours of communication, the Journal reserves the right to either not publish the work or to publish it with the adjustments made.

General instructions

The digital files for images, graphs, and tables should be named according to their corresponding number in the text.

Fragments, phrases, or words transcribed in a foreign language must be italicized. Exceptions include geographic names, names of entities, organizations, institutions, corporations, as well as names of agreements, pacts, or treaties, etc.
